About Preeti

A designer, educator and philosopher based in New York, Preeti integrates Philosophy and mindfulness practices seamlessly into her life and career

As the founding Director of the MFA Textiles program at Parsons School of Design, Preeti has worked closely with visionary Li Edelkoort to develop a groundbreaking, hybrid textiles Master’s program that
sits at the intersection of technology and craft, on the bedrock values of sustainability, social justice, beauty and well being.

Passionate about education and innovation, Preeti has created a unique and effective pedagogical system that prepares global citizens to do meaningful work that will address 21 st century issues through the integration of timeless philosophical principles with craft and design.

Preeti continues to be immersed in Plato and Advaita Vedanta studies at the School of Practical Philosophy in New York. Some of the many cross-disciplinary courses she has created, and taught, include – Philosophy Works, Philosophy & Happiness, Plato’s Divided Line, Philosophy through Dance and Philosophy & Textiles.
